Aftercare

Brows

Please follow these instructions for 14 days after the procedure to improve and prolong the results of your permanent makeup. If you don’t follow these instructions, it can greatly affect your microblading results or put you at risk for infection, scarring or loss of pigmentation.

Items you will need for immediately after the procedure:

Coconut oil or Grapeseed oil

Avoid getting anything on the brows, including water, except for cleansing as directed. The first day of your procedure, please gently blot your brows with a tissue for the first 15 minutes. This is very important to minimize scabbing and allow for better pigment retention.

Cleansing: Wash lightly with a slightly wet Q-tips. Repeat this, very gently every morning and night. After each wash, using a clean Q-tip apply the oil. This will hydrate your brow area for dryness relief. Do not pick or rub the brows. The scabs/flakes must fall off on their own or you will risk removing the color and possibly scarring.

You may find that your eyebrows will scab or become slightly dry following the treatment. If they itch, DO NO SCRATCH them. You may apply coconut oil to relieve the itchiness.

Your eyebrows may appear thicker/darker during the healing period, this is normal and will soften once they are healed in 14 days.

Sleep on a clean pillowcase to prevent infections or bacteria. Scabbing may result in blurred strokes or pigment loss. There is no guarantee of pigment retention.

  • Do not soak the treated area in the bath/shower, pool or hot tub. For 30 days, refrain from swimming in salt water or chlorinated pools, saunas, hot yoga, steam rooms or sun beds.

No exercise for 14 days. Sweating can greatly alter the healing process and affect your healing.

Do not expose treated area to direct sunlight. After healed (30 days), use a sunscreen to avoid fading from the sun.

No makeup should be applied directly on the brows during the healing process.

No other products should touch the brows during healing, other than the coconut oil.

Do not touch, rub, pick or scratch your brows following treatment or during the healing process.

Lips

  • Day One: It is very important to remove the lymph from the surface of the skin in order to avoid heavy scabbing. Immediately after the procedure, clean the lips with a damp cotton pad (Clean bottled water is recommended) every 30 minutes until you go to bed. If there's dry lymph liquid on the lips before bed, gently wash your lips with lukewarm water and apply Aquaphor Healing ointment (found in any grocery store).
In some cases the lip may bruise or swell, do not worry this is normal and will go away within 24 hours.

  • Day Two: The lips may be swollen the second day as well. Keep the skin moist at all times, do not let the lips to be dry.

  • Day three to seven: Continue applying the ointment as needed, this means as soon as the lips are starting to feel dry, apply ointment.

  • During day one to seven or longer(until the lips are healed) Avoid water on the pmu area, makeup, excessive sweating. Avoid Saunas, pools, sunbathing and do not apply anything other than Aquaphor ointment such as Vaseline, Antibiotic creams, neosporin etc. Grapeseed oil or coconut oil may be substitutes instead of the Aquaphor. It is best to avoid creams that contain acids or ingredients that could lighten or exfoliate the treated area (4 weeks prior to appointment).
